'Suits' co-star Rick Hoffman reveals 'foul' smell at Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding

One of the "Suits" co-stars of would-be princess Meghan Markle, Rick Hoffman, recently alleged that there had been a "foul" smell in the air during Markle's 2018 Royal Wedding with Prince Harry, Fox News reported.

The unpleasant recollection comes amid accusations that the Duchess of Sussex has essentially ditched her former colleagues and friends from the popular USA Network series since marrying into the British Royal Family more than five years earlier.

However, Hoffman noted that except for the alleged stench that caused him to make a face that was caught by a photographer and preserved forever in memes on the internet, the royal marriage proceedings were otherwise "incredibly special" and surreal for the actor.

Hoffman explains his "awful face" at Royal Wedding

The revelation from Hoffman came last week during an interview on the Barstool Sports podcast "Chicks in the Office," during which he discussed a recent resurgence in popularity for the "Suits" series now that it is available for streaming, talked about the character he portrayed on the show, and recalled his experience attending the Royal Wedding several years ago.

"If you type in my name in on Google you see my face making that awful face," Hoffman said of the marital proceedings, according to Fox News.

"As time goes on, I'm starting to smell something really terrible and foul, and I'm very sensitive when it comes to that so I start to try to do this," he continued as he mimicked covering his nose, according to People magazine. "Because I have a coconut vanilla moisturizer, and I like to try to cut it. How can I help getting away from this goofy face?"

Markle used to tease Hoffman about his sensitivity to smells

People reported that Hoffman recounted how he approached some of the other "Suits" co-stars who attended the wedding to ask them about the odor he smelled, "Because I don't want them to think it's me because I'm so particular when it comes to hygiene."

"So I'm like, 'Do you guys smell that?' And they're like, 'No.' So now I'm like literally by myself and I'm just going, 'Mother...,'" he continued. "And that's what they got [on camera]."

"Guess who knew that the most in the cast that I had an issue with other people's hygiene?" Hoffman asked and answered. "Meghan! Always knew and would always laugh about how I was so sensitive."

Markle has abandoned her former co-stars and friends since leaving the show

The New York Post's Page Six reported that Markle had co-starred on "Suits" for eight of the nine seasons that aired on USA Network from 2011-2019, but bailed on the program's production in 2018 when she got married to Prince Harry.

Though the duchess initially kept in touch with her former co-stars, even inviting several to attend the Royal Wedding, she has since reportedly fallen out of contact with them and is said to have declined an opportunity to reunite with them during an appearance together at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony earlier this year.

Nor has she been involved in an ongoing group text with her former co-stars who've been celebrating the show's resurgence in popularity since becoming available to stream on Netflix last year, largely because none of those former colleagues and friends have her phone number anymore, per a recent interview with "Suits" co-star Gina Torres.

A similar revelation came recently from co-star Gabriel Macht, according to Fox News, during an interview about his appearance in a T-Mobile Super Bowl commercial with other stars of the show.

"I have not communicated with her other than seeing her big support for the resurgence, and that has been really nice. No, no communication," Macht said of Markle, then jokingly pretended that she was calling him right then as he added, "Oh, hold on. There she is. Oh, got to go."
