Supreme Court strikes down Republicans on Pennsylvania
America's Supreme Court just released a shocking decision that may have a major impact on our upcoming Presidential Election. Republicans are NOT happy about the decision.
According to NPR, the Supreme Court has decided to side with Democrats when it comes to the ballot controversy in Pennsylvania.
Republicans wanted to "block the counting of provisional ballots cast by voters in the election battleground state of Pennsylvania who make mistakes on their mail-in ballots." The Supreme Court disagreed.
Their decision could have a MASSIVE impact on the way the Presidential Election plays out.
Ballot security
I'm sure you remember what happened in the aftermath of the 2020 Election. Whether or not you think Donald Trump was the rightful winner of that election or not, you have to admit that there were some serious irregularities in the process that Americans are justified in being concerned about.
If Democrats had lost the election, they would have been FURIOUS that videos surfaced of poll workers pulling out boxes of ballots from under tables once witnesses were ordered to leave the room. Remember how we all went to bed with Donald Trump dominating the election, and woke up to a Joe Biden victory?
It's hard to say if the election was stolen from Donald Trump or not.
There should be no difference in what side you're voting for, ALL Americans should be able to be confident in our election results.
Supreme Court Decision
In this particular case, the Supreme Court offered no explanation for why they ruled the way they did. Reuters describes this as "common in emergency matters," but Republicans want a bit of an explanation.
Federal officials, Supreme Court judges included, understand that election security is a HUGE concern for Americans right now after what happened in 2020.
When you couple that with the fact that mail-in voting is way more prone to be compromised than paper in-person ballots, I don't blame Republicans for being wary about WHY liberals are pushing so hard for less secure voting methods.
Liberals try to pretend that they are being compassionate when they say that proper identification should not be required to vote, but what they're really trying to do is make elections easier for themselves. If they're not concerned with identity security, why should we believe that they're trying to ensure a completely fair election?
Republicans were hoping for a conservative Supreme Court to side with them, but liberals just picked up this victory in Pennsylvania. Could this decision in a hotly contested swing state have a serious impact on the national results?
Only time will tell. Luckily, we don't have to wait very long.
