Sylvester Stallone revealed that he was embarrassed to be a father during a past time when he experienced unemployment.

The now-celebrity Stallone shared the past concern during an interview on a podcast hosted by his two daughters Sophia and Sistine.

The comments

“I was embarrassed to be your father,” he recalled of a time in the early 2000s when he struggled to secure acting work, according to a report by People.

“I felt so worthless. You didn't even really know what I did for a living,” he added. "He just wanders around looking depressed.”

The loss of his son

Stallone also recently opened up about the loss of his son, Sage, in 2012.

"The ‘Rocky’ actor’s son died at the age of 36 in 2012 after suffering from coronary heart disease caused by atherosclerosis," Hollywood Life reported.

"Sylvester Stallone suffered a devastating loss in 2012 when his son, Sage Stallone, died at the age of 36. The Rocky actor’s late child was found dead in his Studio City, Los Angeles, home at the time, and reports surfaced that he hadn’t spoken to anyone in the days leading up to his untimely death," it continued.

A movie-making remorse

Stallone also recently spoke out about one major change he wish he had made to the "Rocky" movie franchise.

"In 2021, Stallone put together a director's cut of the movie he titled Rocky IV: Rocky vs Drago. When Stallone was promoting this new version of his classic film, he was interviewed about Rocky IV," a report noted.

"During the resulting conversation, Stallone revealed that if he could make the decision these days, he wouldn't have killed off Apollo Creed. Instead, he would have turned Apollo Creed into a corner man for Rocky Balboa," he explained.

Stallone is now seen as one of the major stars of Hollywood who has impacted multiple generations. Few would know of his regrets and past concerns but his recent interview and past statements show he has also experienced great adversity in real life that has impacted his role as an actor and filmmaker over multiple decades on the big screen.
