Pop superstar Taylor Swift's text messages with actress Blake Lively are set to be released after a massive setback in court for Lively.

The Daily Mail reported that on Wednesday, a New York judge rejected an effort by Lively's lawyers to protect communications between her and Swift, who is a close friend.

This decision to unveil the texts is part of a massive lawsuit by actor Justin Baldoni against Lively.

Baldoni's team is subpoenaing Lively for texts, emails, and other messages between her and Swift, a figure that Lively referred to as "her dragon."

This is a massive loss for Lively and Swift, although Swift has already avoided being dragged into this case after beating a request to have all of her communications accessed.

Explosive case escalates

With this decision, Baldoni's team is set to analyze a treasure trove of messages exchanged by the pair with all communications related to the It Ends With Us movie set.

Swift is reportedly falling out with Lively because of the exploding case that has become a massive liability for her and her brand.

To add further to the drama, Baldoni's team managed to convince Swift's dad, Scott Swift, to voluntarily present the information Baldoni's team was after.

An unnamed source told the Daily Mail that, "Scott Swift did not want his daughter to be dragged into this any further and he voluntarily gave up this information as part of a deal that would include [Baldoni's team] withdrawing their subpoena for Taylor."

Part of the motivation behind Scott Swift's decision to give up this information comes from allegations that Swift was being blackmailed by Lively's lawyers.

Lively's lead lawyer apparently threatened Swift into publicly supporting Lively by saying private text messages of a personal nature would be publicized.

Hollywood falling out

If half of these allegations are true, it seems fair to suspect that Lively and Swift are no longer on speaking terms, which in a way is a big win for Baldoni.

Lively's lawyers have responded to these blackmail allegations by claiming they are "baseless, unnecessary, improper and abusive."

Of course, this episode has done irreparable damage to Lively's credibility as she continues to battle a defamation case from Baldoni after she accused him of sexually assaulting her.
