The woman who was recently arrested for setting fire to a church in El Paso, Texas, is now being accused of sending hate-filled messages to a place where a vigil was being held for the recently assassinated Turning Point USA Founder, Charlie Kirk.

The suspect, according to Fox News, has been identified as 35-year-old Marynka Marquez of Denton, Texas.

Marquez' mugshot has been released. Take a look:

The latest

KFOX14 reports that the arson incident took place a couple of week ago, on Sept. 17, 2025. The location was Beth El Bible Church. It now turns out that Marquez actually hand-delivered hate messages to the church before setting it on fire.

Per the outlet:

Police responded to 6440 Montana in reference to an arson last Wednesday at Beth El Bible Church. According to the arrest affidavit, the woman knocked at the church and told volunteers she wanted to drop off a package for the Charlie Kirk vigil that was going to be held at the church the next day. The volunteer walked the woman to the sanctuary at the front stage, where other arrangements were displayed and left a bag there and kept the other bag.

The other bag is what the suspect used to light the fire.

KFOX14 continues:

When police arrived, the investigation revealed that a woman had gone to the church, placed a large bag against the outside wall of the church, set it on fire, and then fled the scene.

Luckily, the outlet reports that "The pastor was leaving the church when he spotted the fire and quickly put it out."

Bag of hate

We now have some idea of what was in the first bag that the suspect dropped off. The bag, it turns out, was filled with hate messages directed at the deceased Charlie Kirk.

Fox reports:

Inside that bag, a paper plate was found with the writing, "C Kirk is eating p*** and s***in h***," and, "Soon you'll help him eat and drink it all."

The outlet adds, "Another plate inside the bag said, 'C is a 4 coward, C is a 4 Conservative, C is 4 Control."

Marquez is being held at the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond.

Beth El Bible Church released a statement, saying:

Beth El Bible Church is disheartened that we face these circumstances. We believe in letting the local authorities do what they are called to do. As a church, we choose to forgive. We give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for his protection of our facilities and our lives.
