Former Special Counsel Jack Smith's "Arctic Frost" operation was dirty in all kinds of ways, including what the judge overseeing it ordered phone companies to say and what not to say to lawmakers who had their phone records subpoenaed.

According to Just The News, Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill just filed articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg over the revelation that Boasberg told AT&T and Verizon not to notify lawmakers whose phone records had been seized.

Judge Boasberg, an Obama appointee, happens to be overseeing one of the major cases unfolding in the Trump administration that deals with invoking the Alien Enemies Act to deport certain illegals.

Not long ago, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) had suggested that Boasberg be impeached. At the time, Gill teased that he would do it, and it looks like he followed through on that.

What's going on?

Gill took the nod from Cruz, as it's the responsibility of House members to file the articles of impeachment against civil officers, the president and the vice president. It then gets handed to the Senate for a conviction and possible removal.

Just The News noted:

The Texan claimed Boasberg weaponized the judiciary branch against people who criticized the Biden administration, including people who criticized the administration's Arctic Frost probe.

Gill elaborated on the situation in an X post, generating quick headlines over his revelations to the public regarding the judge's actions.

"As part of the Arctic Frost Investigation, Judge Boasberg signed off on frivolous nondisclosure orders to conceal the fact that sitting US Senators were being surveilled," Gill said on X.

He added, "Not only was this action egregiously improper; it was a gross violation of the separation of powers. Judge Boasberg is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, is unfit for office, and should be impeached."

Social media reaction

Users across social media had plenty to say about the potential impeachment of Judge Boasberg.

"That’s what I’m talking about. Thank you for helping finally hold these people accountable!," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Thanks Brandon, keep up the great work."

It'll be interesting to see if Gill can Garner the needed support to take the process to the next level.
