There was a time when supporting President Donald Trump would have resulted in dire consequences for celebrities and sports stars, even if they secretly admired him.

However, since the last election, supporting Trump on the public stage has not only become acceptable, it's also the trendy thing to do.

According to Breitbart, the latest display of support for Trump on the public stage came from Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers, who made it clear that he's fully behind the incoming president.

Ewers made his Trump support very public as he entered the Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium for the opening round of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, according to the outlet.

What did he do?

The outlet reported that Ewers walked into the stadium wearing "a pinstriped Navy blue suit, a red tie, and a gold tie clip." It was the gold tie clip that caught the most attention.

The tie clips clearly had "Trump" engraved on it, which sparked a firestorm of support and admiration, along with plenty of hate from Trump Derangement Syndrome-stricken haters.

Other high-profile sports stars have also shown their support for the incoming president.

Breitbart noted:

The last several weeks have seen an outpouring of public support from the sports world for the president-elect. Before the election, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa interrupted an NBC post-game interview to display his MAGA hat."

In the world of college football, Texas Tech kicker Reese Burkhardt displayed a MAGA shirt after scoring a touchdown on a fake kick.

Trump also received a massive, hero's welcome at the Army-Navy game earlier this month, which he attended with Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and Department of Defense hopeful Pete Hegseth.

Social media reacts

Ewers received an outpouring of praise from people who respected his unapologetic position on the president-elect.

"Quinn Ewers rocking a Trump tie clip isn’t just a fashion choice—it’s a statement. In a world where athletes are pressured to stay silent or lean one way politically, this is bold. Love him or hate him, you’ve got to respect someone who’s unapologetically themselves on and off the field," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "A true red blooded American, he is."

It's nice to see the growing trend of celebrities and sports stars no longer afraid of making a statement instead of cowering and worrying about the consequences.
