'The View' calls for Menendez to be ousted following the vote to remove Santos
The co-hosts of "The View" argued that Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) should be removed from Congress.
The conversation followed the vote to remove New York Republican Rep. George Santos on Friday.

The discussion
“Due process matters, but we kind of live in a post-shame environment. It used to be that if you were accused of something, you would politely be told by leadership to resign now," co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said.
"I think that frankly, whether you’re under federal investigation, whether it be Donald Trump, Bob Menendez, George Santos, you should step aside. But of course, no one does that,” Griffin added.
He actually made sense!
"We have a colleague in the Senate that's actually done much more sinister kinds of things. He needs to go. If you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow Menendez to remain in the Senate? Menendez is really a Senator for Egypt, not New Jersey." pic.twitter.com/eWIaACXy2X

Fetterman agrees
"We have a colleague in the Senate that's actually done much more sinister kinds of things. He needs to go," Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) also stated on the show.
"If you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow Menendez to remain in the Senate? Menendez is really a Senator for Egypt, not New Jersey," he continued.

New allegations
"The government’s latest charge flies in the face of my long record of standing up for human rights and democracy in Egypt and in challenging leaders of that country, including President [Abdel-Fattah] El-Sisi on these issues," Menendez responded to the latest charges in October.
"Piling new charge upon new charge does not make the allegations true. The facts haven’t changed, only a new charge," he added. "I again ask people who know me and my record to give me the chance to present my defense and show my innocence."
Menendez has refused to resign and has instead launched his reelection campaign for the Senate next year.
He now faces multiple Democrats in the primary, including the recent entry of the first lady of New Jersy running against him.
The charges may now be fully investigation in time to remove Menendez before next year but voters might do the job instead if the primary goes to one of his competitors.
