Netflix's 2020 docuseries "Tiger King" featured a wide range of outlandish figures, including Carol Baskin, an animal rights activist whose husband disappeared over a quarter century ago.
Yet in a shocking development, Cosmopolitan magazine revealed that despite him being legally declared dead in 2002, Baskin now alleges that her husband is alive in Central America.
The fate of Baskin's husband, Don Lewis, has long been a point of speculation, with People magazine reporting that socialite Kim Kardashian wondering whether Baskin had killed him.
Wow the amount of texts I’ve gotten about Tiger King since I tweeted about it all have mentioned their belief that Carol killed her husband! What are your thoughts? Do you think Carol killed him?

Cosmopolitan reported last year that Baskin discussed her husband's disappearance in a Reddit post, suggesting that he might have been killed in a plane crash.
"Don loved to fly and was looking to buy ultralights and experimental planes. I believe Don crashed a small experimental plane or ultralight into the Gulf for several reasons," she wrote.
"He wasn't licensed to fly, yet did all the time," Baskin continued. "He couldn't file a flight plan and had to take off from closed airports to evade detection.
"He had to fly under 200 feet to stay off the radar, which means he would typically fly out over the Gulf because the air is smoother there, whereas over land there are up and down drafts that will crash you at that height," the animal activists went on.
"Since phone records indicated he was planning to go to Texas, and his van was found at a small private airstrip and we have never found Don or wreckage, I think this was the most likely scenario," Baskin concluded.
However, Baskin also said that same year in an interview with Britain's ITV that her husband had been located by U.S. authorities in Costa Rica.
Yet members of Lewis' family recently told TMZ that they do not believe that their father has been discovered and have been left traumatized by Baskin's claim.
"While we would certainly welcome the good news of our Dad being found alive, it's just simply not true," Lewis's daughters were quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office told Fox News this week that it has "not received any communication from our federal partners that confirms the location of missing person Mr. Don Lewis."
