Tom Homan does not rule out investigation into AOC as she ramps up threats
President Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, did not rule out a federal investigation into Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Ny.) as a clash between the two continues to escalate over immigration.
The Trump administration has warned that elected officials, and even judges, who obstruct immigration enforcement will face the full force of the law.
AOC under investigation?
The Democratic mayor of Newark was arrested and charged with trespassing last week after entering an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center. A trio of Democratic lawmakers, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Robert Menendez and LaMonica McIver, were also present.
The three say they were at the detention center to perform congressional oversight, but the Trump administration has accused them of violently storming the facility.
Meanwhile, a federal grand jury indicted a Wisconsin judge on Monday who allegedly helped a criminal alien escape from her courtroom as federal agents waited to arrest him.
AOC told Fox News Digital this week that she has not been able to confirm whether she is under investigation for her "Know Your Rights" webinar, in which she advised illegal aliens on how to evade arrest by ICE. The webinar sparked an ongoing feud with Homan.
"I've asked them, they haven't responded to me, but you know, I was once again fully using the First Amendment to inform people of their constitutional rights. They say a lot of things, but I've written a formal letter, and they won't respond," she told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
Homan shrugs
Meanwhile, Homan told Fox News Digital to ask the Justice Department if there is an active probe into AOC. He suggested that she start taking her job as a legislator seriously.
"I wish she'd do her job. She's a legislator, right? Why doesn’t she pass some legislation… and actually improve this country like President Donald Trump is already doing?" Homan said.
AOC is widely seen as a presidential contender in 2028, and she is infamous for her love of the spotlight.
Reacting to the chaos in Newark, Ocasio-Cortez warned there would be a "problem" if more Democrats are arrested.
“If anyone’s breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security,” she said during an Instagram video posted Sunday. “It’s people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem.”
When asked to comment on AOC's latest threats, Homan laughed out loud and said, "I’m extremely intimidated."
