NFL fans received a surprising report about Taylor Swift's relationship during the Chiefs-Raiders game on Christmas Day. 

Tony Romo got people talking when he accidentally called Swift the "wife" of the Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce.

During the second quarter, the camera panned to Swift following a reception by her boyfriend.

That's when Romo made the surprise comment about Swift's relationship.

"Wow! You saw the juice. He caught that, he took off. Looking like a young Kelce … And his wife loves it," Romo said.

Romo was quick to correct his premature statement: "I mean, girlfriend."

Romo's co-broadcaster Jim Nantz replied, "You’ve been down that road before."

Romo previously made the same remark when the Chiefs played the Bills earlier this month - and his latest comments caused a stir online, with many questioning whether Romo had some insider information.

Swift drama converges with NFL

That wasn't the only drama from Monday's game, which ended up being a slaughter for the Chiefs. Kelce threw his helmet to the ground in rage over the lackluster performance of the Chiefs' offense.

Swift - who was wearing a Santa hat with Kelce's No. 87 on it - was later seen comforting Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as the game ended.

Swift's romance with Kelce has become a pop culture obsession, leading some to blame Swift for the Chiefs' recent struggles.

Their latest disappointment Monday led to more speculation about whether Swift has become a distraction for Kelce and the Chiefs, who have stumbled this season after winning the Super Bowl last year.

Swift's relationship with Kelce has been seen as her most serious yet, leading to speculation that the 34-year-old singer - known for writing bitter break-up songs about her notorious roster of exes - will finally tie the knot.
