Top Dem megadonor applauds Trump, wants National Guard deployed to San Francisco
President Donald Trump's initiative to deploy federal law enforcement officers and National Guard troops to crime-ridden cities has proven to be wildly successful, all while being met with extreme resistance from the left.
However, according to Breitbart, Democratic Party members were in shock this week after Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, a Democrat megadonor, applauded Trump's plan and suggested that National Guard troops should be deployed to San Francisco.
The president has primarily focused his deployment efforts on cities experiencing riots against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials and federal buildings.
The deployments have sparked massive political backlash on the left, with most Democrats coming out against the Trump administration for its actions.
What's going on?
Benioff made the comment during a shocking interview with The New York Times, sending Democrats into a whirlwind of Trump Derangement Syndrome episodes.
The Salesforce CEO's words during the interview were clear as day.
Breitbart noted:
[T]he president, in an Oval Office gathering in August, mentioned that he was considering sending federal troops into San Francisco as he ticked off a list of other Democratic-led cities. He said that Democrats had “destroyed” San Francisco and that he would “clean that one up, too.”
Mr. Benioff said he liked that idea and thought that Guard soldiers could help reduce crime in the city.
White House cryptocurrency adviser David Sacks was one of the first to highlight Benioff's defection, writing in an X post, "Checkmate."

"I fully support the president," he said during the Times interview. "I think he’s doing a great job."
Social media reaction
Users across social media weighed in on Benioff's thoughts on the National Guard being deployed to the city, as well as his praise for the president's efforts so far.
"So many people are leaving the left or leaning more towards the middle. Did they shift? Or did they remain the same, and the parties shifted? Interesting to think about," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Well Dreamforce, their huge conference, is next week, so I don’t blame him. If all these visitors to the conference go to San Francisco and it’s a mess, shady, dangerous, and drug use everywhere…they won’t come back and won’t hold THEIR company conferences in SF. Clean it up!"
