Trump administration pauses visas for foreign truckers after deadly FL crash
Americans were shocked last week when a commercial truck driver who illegally entered the country allegedly killed three people by making a U-turn on a Florida highway.
In response, the Trump administration revealed this week that it is pulling the plug on a visa program for foreign truckers.
Rubio cites safety concerns
According to Newsmax, that announcement was made public on Thursday by Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a social media post.
"Effective immediatelym we are pausing all issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers," the secretary of State wrote.

Trucker had California license
Meanwhile, Newsmax noted that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has stated that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has launched an investigation into the deadly Florida crash.
The driver has been identified as Harjinder Singh, a migrant from India who does not speak English and is now facing three counts of vehicular homicide.
Fox News reported that Singh is believed to have illegally crossed America's southern border in 2018 and was denied a work authorization permit in September of 2020.
However, Singh's work authorization application was later approved by the Biden administration in June of the following year. He subsequently obtained a commercial driver's license in California.
DHS seeks to halt further licensure
That California opted to grant Singh such a license was highlighted in a social media post from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem this past Monday.
She pointed out how three "innocent people were killed in Florida because Gavin Newsom’s California DMV issued an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License."
The Trump administration official went on to maintain that "[t]his gut wrenching tragedy should have never happened."
"My team at [the Department of Homeland Security] will work with [the Department of Transportation] to root out and prevent illegal aliens from obtaining these licenses from sanctuary jurisdictions that put American drivers and passengers in danger," she further added.
