Trump administration wages counterattack on legacy media oulets: Report
Let's face it: the mainstream media is absolutely garbage, and it seems like it really solidified that description the first time Donald Trump was elected to office, especially under former President Joe Biden's watch.
That's why it's not surprising to witness the Trump administration obliterate the mainstream media with what Breitbart described as a "large-scale offensive" against the swamp media.
Polling across the country shows clear proof that the general public has lost faith and trust in the establishment media, as the industry's numbers dipped to record-low, embarrassing levels in 2024.
President Trump and his administration have come up with a number of methods to keep the mainstream media in check.
What's going on?
President Trump is using the FCC to investigate several issues involving some of the legacy mainstream media outlets, including PBS, NPR, CBS and NBC.
Breitbart noted:
FCC probing PBS, NPR to uncover if they “violated government rules by recognizing financial sponsors on the air.
FCC investigating Comcast/NBCUniversal’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices.
FCC probing CBS as to whether or not it violated rules when it edited former Vice President Kamala Harris’s 60 Minutes interview.
Congress is even getting involved, as it was reported that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wants "NPR and PBS testify at a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee hearing on 'systemically biased content.'"
Some of those same media outlets, which include NPR, NBC News, Politico, and CNN, were already banned from workspaces at the Pentagon under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The Associated Press, which used to be the gold standard in the mainstream media, has already been banned by the Trump administration from certain events and Air Force One trips.
It's the first time that the establishment media has been challenged at such a level, and it's glorious to watch it all unfold.
Media triggered
People from the aforementioned media outlets are whining and crying foul over finally receiving pushback after years of being able to write and sell lies and misinformation about Trump and anyone associated with them.
The Associated Press was one of the offended parties.
"The decision by the White House to block an AP reporter from an open press conference with President Trump and Prime Minister Modi is a deeply troubling escalation of the administration’s continued efforts to punish The Associated Press for its editorial decisions," the outlet wrote last week.
The legacy media is dying, and it's screaming in pain on its way out.
