A member of President-elect Donald Trump's family-like inner circle of advisors experienced a frightening health incident on Sunday while speaking at an event for young Republicans.

Alex Bruesewitz, a top Trump campaign advisor and political strategist, collapsed on stage during a speech and then reportedly fainted a second time after being transported to a local hospital, according to the New York Post.

He appears to be fine, recovering well, and in good spirits in the aftermath, as evidenced by the jokes he's cracked since the on-stage spill.

Collapsed on stage

Sunday evening, Bruesewitz was energetically addressing the crowd at the New York Young Republicans gala when his speech suddenly slowed and became slurred, with him muttering, "I’m forgetting my words," just a few seconds before slumped forward over the lectern and went crashing to the floor.

Others swiftly rendered aid and he was soon transported to a hospital to be checked out, where he is said to have passed out for a second time, according to two unnamed sources familiar with what occurred.

Monday morning, an update on Bruesewitz's health and well-being was delivered in an X post from his attorney, Joseph McBride, who wrote of his friend and client, "He is still admitted to a hospital in New York where he has undergone a series of tests. Please keep this young fighter in your thoughts and prayers."

"Maybe I took my Joe Biden impression just a little too far"

In a separate report from the New York Post on Monday evening, it was noted that Bruesewitz was making a "speedy recovery" following his "sudden collapse" at the event and a second fainting spell after being hospitalized.

Bruesewitz addressed the situation in an X post and wrote, "We are back. What a surreal experience. Maybe I took my Joe Biden impression just a little too far."

He went on to thank all of the staff he'd encountered at New York Presbyterian Hospital for the "outstanding care" they'd provided him as well as everybody at the NYYR gala who'd rendered assistance after his fall, including Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) for "staying by my side until the medics took me to the ER."

"Lastly, thank you to everyone who prayed for me and sent heartfelt, thoughtful, encouraging messages. I feel truly blessed to be supported by such wonderful people," Bruesewitz added along with a joking postscript for senior Trump advisor Dan Scavino that said, "My bad for ruining your introduction. I assure you, the rest of my speech was going to be great!"

Political strategist and Trump advisor

Bruesewitz, the CEO of the "America First"-focused X Strategies LLC, has been traveling the country to deliver pro-MAGA speeches while also advising President-elect Trump and his successful campaign.

According to his bio, he "has been a fierce advocate for the America First movement and has worked tirelessly to promote policies that put the interests of American citizens first."

Bruesewitz was also described as a "driving force behind the efforts to defeat Republicans who fight against Trump and the MAGA movement and works to replace them with Republicans who fight for the values we hold dear."
