CNBC reports that former President Donald Trump and three of his adult children will testify in the civil fraud trial that he is facing. 

Per the outlet:

Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump are among the 28 names on James’ list of witnesses to be called in the case.

This is the same case that has been brought against Trump and his company - the Trump Organization - by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D).

And, James is the same woman who ran for attorney general on a platform that included a promise to use the legal system to target Trump.

Now, James is carrying her plan out, alleging that Trump and his company committed fraud on financial forms by overstating the value of his assets.

Recently, the judge overseeing the case - Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron - ruled that Trump is liable for the fraud mentioned above. As a result, the Trump Organization has lost its business certificates and it is being forced to sell off its assets.

A juryless trial that will be overseen by Engoron is scheduled to begin on Monday.

The point of the trial, among other things, will be to determine monetary penalties, whether others are liable for fraud, and whether Trump and his children will be banned from ever again running a business in New York.

James, as mentioned at the outset, has made it clear that she intends to call Trump and three of his children to testify.

Trump defends himself on social media

Trump clearly does not believe that he is getting a fair shake in the New York court system. So, he has taken the case to the public, via social media.

The former president, in multiple statements, has vehemently denied the claims that have been brought against him by James.

In one of his most recent statements on the matter, Trump wrote:

AS AN EXAMPLE, HE VALUES THE MOST SPECTACULAR PROPERTY IN PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, MAR-A-LAGO, AT $18,000,000, WHEN IT IS WORTH POSSIBLY 100 TIMES THAT AMOUNT.

The former president continued:

Trump may have some valid points here, but, at the moment, it just does not matter. It is almost certain that the judge will continue to rule against him. The big question is going to be whether Trump has any chance on appeal.
