Trump calls for Israel to destroy Iran's nuclear program

Former President Donald Trump says that Israel ought to destroy Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Trump made the remark on Friday, according to Breitbart News, while campaigning in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The former president's approach to the situation, as we shall see, stands in stark contrast to that of the Biden-Harris administration.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris always seem to be wanting to give the bad guys a pass. Trump, however, has made it clear that things would be different if he were in charge.

"Hit the nuclear first"

It was during a town hall event that Trump weighed in on the Biden-Harris administration's response to Iran's recent attack on Israel. The former president's remarks came the day after Biden made public statements on the matter.

Trump said:

I listened to Biden yesterday . . . They asked him, what do you think about, what do you think about Iran? Would you hit Iran? And he goes, “As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff.” That’s the thing you want to hit, right? I said, I think he’s got that one wrong. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to hit? I mean, it’s the most, it’s the biggest risk.

Trump, here, is essentially arguing that the biggest risk to the rest of the world from Iran is its nuclear weapons capability and that, therefore, it ought to be taken out to remove that risk.

The former president continued:

We have nuclear weapons, the power of nuclear weapons, the power of weaponry. You know, I rebuilt the entire military jets, everything I built it, including nuclear, and I hated to build the nuclear, but I got to know firsthand the power of that stuff, and I’ll tell you what, we have to be totally prepared. We have to be absolutely prepared. But when they asked him that question, the answer should have been hit the nuclear first and worry about the rest later. And that’s why they should, if they’re going to do it, if they’re going to do it, they’re going to do it, but we’ll find out whatever their plans are.

Indeed.

Background

Biden, according to the New York Postsaid on Wednesday that he opposes a pre-emptive strike by Israel on Iran's nuclear sites.

"The answer is no," Biden said.

"We’ll be discussing with the Israelis what they are going to do," he added.

The Hill reports that this all comes "as Iran launched a barrage of missiles on Tuesday toward Israel."

Israel has vowed to strike back, but the Biden-Harris administration seems to be trying to hold Israel back. We'll see if Israel goes ahead and attacks anyway, as it has disregarded the Biden-Harris administration in the past.
