Trump DHS raids Hyundai factory, arresting hundreds
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), under the leadership of President Donald Trump, just made a massive illegal immigration bust.
Fox News reports that the DHS recently raided a Hyundai factory near Savannah, Georgia, where authorities arrested nearly 500 individuals.
Leftists are already condemning the raid, claiming it to be, among other things, the latest example of "racism" from the Trump administration.
South Koreans suspected of working in the United States illegally were the majority of the 475 people arrested in a raid on a Hyundai-LG battery plant being built in Georgia, a U.S. official said Friday. MORE: https://t.co/7rf5u9G75l pic.twitter.com/hQ2lgzkGd5

The details:
In this Georgia Hyundai factory were upwards of 400 illegal immigrants.
Fox News reports:
Homeland Security Investigations said 475 people who were in the country illegally, primarily from South Korea, were arrested as part of the operation at the under-construction battery plant. However, the car company claimed nobody detained was "directly employed" by Hyundai.
One could always expect the employer, in such situations, to have an out. Whether the company will actually get off the hook for obviously employing, directly or indirectly, illegal immigrants remains to be seen.
Atlanta ATF put out a statement, saying:
Today, @ATFAtlanta joined HSI, FBI, DEA, ICE, GSP and other agencies in a major immigration enforcement operation at the Hyundai mega site battery plant in Bryan County, GA, leading to the apprehension of ~450 unlawful aliens, emphasizing our commitment to community safety.
There, however, is a lot more to this story.
The Biden link
It turns out that this is the same factory that former President Joe Biden once claimed as a victory for manufacturing jobs in the United States.
Back in May 2022, Biden, while visiting South Korea, said:
It’s great to be here to announce the more than $10 billion in new investment in American manufacturing. This new commitment of $5 billion for advanced automotive technology and $5.5 billion investment to open a new factory near Savannah, Georgia, is going to create more than 8,000 new American jobs . . . Our administration is setting ambitious standards to cut pollution in cars and trucks and boost — boost — fuel economy standards for those continuing to operate on gasoline.
The move was even lauded by some Republicans, including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican.
It was a victory not only for so-called manufacturing jobs, but also for electric vehicles, which is what the factory made.
The part that Biden appears to have left out is that it was not Americans who got the jobs.
