With the possible exception of President George Washington, Herbert Hoover and John F. Kennedy, President Donald Trump is the only president in history to donate his presidential paychecks to charity or causes. He's never taken a dime.

According to JustTheNews, for his first paycheck during his second term in the White House, it was announced this week that he donated the money to the White House Historical Association, earmarked for upcoming renovations.

Trump has vowed to personally fund some much-needed upgrades and renovations to the "People's House," including a "significant upgrade" to the White House ballroom.

Since taking office the first time, Trump has donated every single one of his paychecks to various causes or organizations, with his very first in 2017 going to the National Park Service.

What's going on?

Trump made the announcement that he would be donating to the White House Historical Situation in a Truth Social post this week, making it clear that he's ready to help fund a facelift for the historical building.

"My first 'Paycheck' went to the White House Historical Association, as we make much needed renovations to the beautiful ‘People’s House,'" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added, "Great improvements and beautification is taking place at the White House, at levels not seen since its original creation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Trump's paycheck donations are widely praised by his supporters, and the gesture has put him in a class of his own as a U.S. president.

The president, who makes about $400K per year for his presidential salary, has donated to a long list of worthy causes and charities since first taking office.

Social media reacts

Users across social media praised the president for his paycheck donations.

"Trump walks the walk and we are not used to seeing politicians who are not after the money primarily," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Contrary to the Dem narrative.. he does it because he wants a better America, not for the money."

Not surprisingly, Democrats and Trump-haters didn't have much to say about it, because there's nothing bad here to say.
