Trump encouraged Melania to sue Hunter Biden over Epstein claim
The first couple is unique in that they are one of the least traditional couples to inhabit the White House, and that uniqueness has them in the headlines once again.
According to recent reports, President Donald Trump previously encouraged his wife, first lady Melania Trump, to sue former first son Hunter Biden, as The Daily Mail reported.
The suit was related to Biden’s claims that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein introduced the pair to one another.
Melania Trump will sue Biden for $1 billion following his refusal to apologize for the claim.
Trump’s Take
Trump said during an interview with Fox News radio host Brian Kilmeade on Thursday that Melania was “very upset about it.”
“I told her, let's go ahead and do it. I let her use my lawyers,” Donald Trump said in reference to the lawsuit.
The president says that not only is the claim false, it can easily be disproven.
“Jeffrey Epstein had nothing to do with Melania and introducing,” Donald Trump said. “But [the media does] that to demean, they make up stories ... I mean, I can tell you exactly how ... it was another person, actually. I did meet [her] through another person. But it wasn't Jeffrey Epstein.”
Biden Response
Hunter Biden responded to Melania Trump's billion-dollar lawsuit threat, saying, “Fu*k that. That's not going to happen.”
He also said he was willing to sit before attorneys and repeat his story, doubling down on his confidence in the claims of ties between Epstein and the first couple.
"If they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffery Epstein, if the president & the first lady want to do that... I'm more than happy to provide them the platform to be able to do it,” Biden said.

More Controversy
According to the first lady's lawyer, Alejandro Brito, these claims by the former first son are “false, defamatory, and lewd.”
Brito said, in comments directed toward Biden,“Given your vast history of trading on the names of others-including your surname-for your personal benefit, it is obvious that you published these false and defamatory statements about Mrs. Trump to draw attention to yourself."
