Politico noted how some Democrats argued that this week's Florida special congressional elections would be "an early voter litmus test of President Donald Trump’s second term."

If so, then Trump scored a major victory as the Republican candidates in each race defeated their Democratic opponents.

Republican candidate wins despite being out spent by a ratio of 10 to one

According to Fox News, Florida Republican state Sen. Randy Fine triumphed on Tuesday evening over Democrat Josh Weil in the state's 6th Congressional District.

The election was called to replace former Republican Rep. Mike Waltz, who resigned his House seat earlier this year in order to serve as Trump's national security advisor.

Fine had been endorsed by Trump, and he quickly expressed gratitude to the president in a social media post, writing, "Because of you, Mr. President. I won't let you down."

Fox News pointed out that Weil took in a veritable tsunami of financial support, managing to out fundraise Fine by a ratio of nearly 10 to one.

Former state chief financial officer won in Matt Gaetz's old district

Meanwhile, the network also reported that former Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis bested Democrat Gay Valimont in Florida's 1st Congressional District.

Patronis was running to replace former Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, who left Congress last year after being nominated by Trump to serve as attorney general.

However, Gaetz's nomination was later withdrawn and the position was ultimately filled by former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Much like Weil, Valimont enjoyed a powerful financial advantage as well, with her campaign out spending Patronis'  five to one.

Trump had expressed concerns over the GOP's already slim House majority

The dual wins by Fine and Patronis will help to bolster the GOP's slim House majority, a situation which Trump had previously expressed concerns about.

Fox News reported last week that the president decided to pull New York Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik's nomination for United Nations ambassador over fears that Speaker Mike Johnson could not afford the loss of her vote.

"I said, ‘Elise, would you do me a favor? We cannot take a chance. We have a slim margin,’" Trump was quoted as saying of the move when speaking with reporters this past Friday. He added, "We don't want to take any chances. We don't want to experiment."
