Trump ends Biden-era programs that allowed 1 million foreigners in under temporary protected statuses
President Donald Trump's crackdown on the millions of illegal immigrants who are currently on American soil due to former President Joe Biden's policies is in full effect, and most Democrats are beyond furious.
According to reports, in addition to mass deportations, Trump has also ended humanitarian parole and Temporary Protected Status programs that were launched by the Biden administration that let roughly 1 million foreign nationals into the country under a protected status.
That's all coming to a swift end, and while the move has sparked mass backlash, some who are being affected by the programs ending are being quite honest about the programs and how they were abused.
Gustavo Garagorry, a man who voted for Trump, might lose some of his family members in the USA who are here under those Biden-era programs, but he knows that the programs were misleading and only temporary.
What did he say?
Garagorry, who serves as president of Miami's Venezuelan American Republican Club, called Biden's temporary protected programs a "disaster" for America.
"The Democrats are always toying with migrants' emotions," said Garagorry, who became a naturalized U.S. citizen. "But they've not done anything but create chaos and make promises they can't keep."
USA Today noted:
Garagorry's family members are among the roughly 1.5 million people who didn't sneak over the border or overstay a visa but took a path endorsed by President Joe Biden. They're a sliver of the nation's estimated 13.7 million unauthorized immigrants, according to the nonpartisan Migration Policy Institute.
However, he still doesn't blame President Trump or his administration for the potential loss of family members who are currently in the United States, rather, he still blames President Biden for launching the misleading programs in the first place.
Stephen Miller, a top Trump adviser and one of the architects behind the dismantling of the programs, described those who arrived under Biden as "invading armies and foreign trespassers."
"If you illegally invaded our country the only 'process' you are entitled to is deportation," Miller wrote recently on his X account.
Social media reacts
Plenty of social media users agreed with Miller's statement.
"@StephenM Absolutely right! No more endless loopholes or taxpayer-funded delays. Under President Trump, we’re enforcing the rule of law, securing our borders, and swiftly removing those who broke our laws," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Entering the country illegally is a crime. It should result in immediate deportation."
Only time will tell how many people Trump and his administration will be able to deport in the next four years.
