Trump fires inspector general accused of submitting inaccurate report on January 6
President Donald Trump made headlines late last week when he fired 17 inspectors general at multiple federal departments.
Among those to get booted was a figure who has been accused of submitting a misleading report regarding the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
Report concerned Department of Defense's role in January 6 response
According to Breitbart, former Department of Defense Inspector General Robert Storch's office submitted the report in November of 2021.
The document was titled, "Review of the DoD’s Role, Responsibilities, and Actions to Prepare for and Respond to the Protest and its Aftermath at the U.S. Capitol Campus on January 6, 2021."
It purported to present "the results of the DoD Office of Inspector General (OIG) review of the DoD’s role, responsibilities, and actions to prepare for and respond to the protest and its aftermath at the U.S. Capitol Campus on January 6, 2021."
However, Breitbart noted how the report was met with criticism late last year from Georgia Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk.
Lawmaker complained of "numerous flaws and inaccuracies in the report"
Loudermilk, who serves as chair of the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, laid out his objections in a letter sent to the inspector general.
The evidence is clear: the DoD and DoD IG suppressed the truth of Jan. 6 and continue to promote a flawed IG report to protect senior Pentagon leaders, and cast blame on the D.C. National Guard.

Specifically, the Republican lawmaker complained of "numerous flaws and inaccuracies in the report," adding that Storch's office had "yet to appropriately address" those concerns.
Loudermilk then pointed to evidence that "the Department of Defense intentionally delayed the deployment of the DCNG [District of Columbia National Guard] to the Capitol on January 6, 2021."
"Furthermore, the Subcommittee also maintains that the DoD IG knowingly concealed the extent of the delay in constructing a narrative that is favorable to DoD and Pentagon leadership," the congressman added.
FEC records show that Storch twice donated to Barack Obama's campaigns
Loudermilk also asserted that Storch's report contained "biased and incomplete statements to favor the DoD and U.S. Army while disparaging the DCNG."
The Republican lawmaker stressed that such content "fails to represent the DoD IG’s philosophy and practice of producing unbiased, objective, impartial, and independent reviews as well as recommendations grounded in evidence and free from external influence."
Meanwhile, Breitbart cited Federal Election Commission (FEC) records which show that Storch is a Democratic donor, having financially supported former President Barack Obama's campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
