Trump fires two top democratic EEOC commissioners

President Donald Trump is well known for his willingness to fire people and that's exactly what he's done since taking back the Oval Office.

According to Fox News, Trump has been on a roll, and his latest firings included two of the three Democratic commissioners on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

The firings came as a result of the Trump administration's push to completely eliminate any trace of the left's "DEI" initiatives.

The two individuals who were fired, Charlotte Burrows and Jocelyn Samuels, confirmed that they were handed their walking papers on Monday evening.

What's going on?

Not surprisingly, Burrows and Samuels both also said that they're exploring any legal avenues to challenge their firings, but experts believe that will be difficult, if not impossible, given Trump's executive power to make such moves.

Their only argument was that they were removed before the end of their five-year terms, which they said was an "unprecedented decision" that they claim "undermines" the agency's independence.

Burrows, in a statement, said Trump firing them would "undermine the efforts of this independent agency to do the important work of protecting employees from discrimination, supporting employers’ compliance efforts, and expanding public awareness and understanding of federal employment laws."

Samuels, a Biden appointee, said her removal "violates the law, and represents a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of the EEOC as an independent agency – one that is not controlled by a single Cabinet secretary but operates as a multi-member body whose varying views are baked into the Commission’s design."

She added, "The President's action undermines the stability and continuity of the EEOC's critical work to advance equal opportunity and fair treatment."

They both argued that DEI at the government level is crucial to "protect all people on the basis of race, sex, gender and religious belief, and other characteristics."

White House responds

Trump's White House released a statement on the firings, holding nothing back in its explanation.

The White House said the two commissioners "were far-left appointees with radical records of upending longstanding labor law, and they have no place as senior appointees in the Trump Administration, which was given a mandate by the American people to undo the radical policies they created."

The firings were the latest victory in the mission to permanently end and erase the idea of DEI in federal government.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is working on doing the same within the ranks of the U.S. military.
