Trump forced to miss Melania's birthday

Former President Donald Trump had to miss his former First Lady Melania Trump's birthday on Friday.

This, of course, is due to the fact that Trump is currently on trial for a dubious criminal case that has been brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D).

Trump, according to The Hill, lamented the fact that he had to miss Melania's 54th birthday in a statement that he made before entering the courtroom.

Now, in response, leftists are trying to use the statement against Trump.

"Would be nice to be with her"

Trump began his statement by wishing his wife a happy birthday.

"Thank you very much, everybody. I appreciate it. I want to start by wishing my wife Melania a very happy birthday," the former president said.

Trump continued by saying that it "would be nice to be with her, but," he added, "I’m in a courthouse for a rigged trial.

"It’s a rigged trial. Terrible. But we’re doing very well in this rigged trial. Everybody knows it. Yesterday was a big day," the former president said.

He concluded by, once again, "wishing Melania happy birthday," and by saying that, later on in the day, he had plans to return to Florida to be with Melania. "I’ll be going there this evening after this case finishes out with this horrible, unconstitutional case, when it finishes," Trump said.

The left attempts to capitalize on Trump's statement

When you are Donald Trump, of course, you can't say or do anything without rabid anti-Trumpers attempting to turn it against you. You, apparently, cannot even wish your wife a happy birthday in peace.

A case-in-point comes from the leftwing outlet Mediaite.

In response to Trump's statement, it wrote, "Trump is currently on trial, of course, for having paid adult film star Stormy Daniels and Playmate Karen McDougal hush money to stay quiet about alleged affairs before the 2016 election."

The outlet later added, "So it’s pretty ******* rich that Trump would act the part of a loving and doting husband who is missing his wife’s birthday celebration because he’s in a courtroom discussing his alleged infidelity on her on multiple occasions with multiple women. ALLEGEDLY."

Yes, allegedly, is the keyword, even though this Mediaite writer is using it sarcastically to imply that there is no doubt that Trump had an affair with these women. It ought to be noted that articles like Mediaite's were a dime a dozen on Friday.
