Trump frees another hostage
President Donald Trump and his administration have managed to free yet another hostage.
This time, Fox News reports that the administration has freed an American defense contractor named Tony Holden.
Holden was being held by Kuwait for years - 903 days, to be exact.
Now, however, he is back home, and he is extremely grateful to President Trump and the administration.
The details
Holden, according to Fox, was arrested in November 2022.
Per the outlet, "In November 2022, Holden was arrested while working at Camp Arifjan, a U.S. Army base in Kuwait, under Vectrus, a U.S.-based company."
The outlet goes on to describe how Holden was violently arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs.
The outlet reports:
After searching the second off-base apartment and not finding drugs, the men took Holden, along with his wife and 3-year-old daughter, into the desert in the middle of the night. According to Holden’s family, the men "physically threatened" his wife and daughter. The family said Holden was later "coerced into signing a written confession in Arabic to protect his family." They then administered a drug test on Holden, which came back negative, but the defense contractor was still charged with drug possession, drug trafficking and attempting to flee the country.
Despite the fact that this was a setup - and despite the fact that the judge knew that it was a setup - Holden was still sentenced to five years in prison. He remained there until the Trump administration secured his release - 903 days.
"I want to thank you..."
Holden, alongside his family, released a video message thanking Trump for obtaining his release.
"President Trump, I want to thank you for what you’ve done for me and my family," he began.
Holden continued:
I wanted you to know, everyone on your team, everyone that have supported this effort, that you know that we greatly appreciate it, okay? I wanted you to be able to meditate on how you affected, personally, lives and the difference you’ve made. I’m a 60-year-old grandfather and father. I can’t put words in how excited. We give all grace and honor to God. But he used instruments and there have been a lot of people behind the scenes who have done a great work. So I wanted to you to be able to hear that directly from me. And again, God bless you and your family.
