Trump granddaughter Kai spotted golfing a practice round with top professional Rory McIlroy
President Donald Trump shares a unique bond with his eldest grandchild, Kai Trump, 17, in that both are particularly fond of and excel at the game of golf.
The rumored talent and ability of Kai were seemingly confirmed this week when she was spotted playing a practice round of golf alongside former World No. 1 pro golfer Rory McIlroy at Torrey Pines in Southern California, according to the Daily Mail.
The surprise event was both a learning experience and an opportunity to showcase her developing skills for the high school senior who is poised to be a major collegiate star over the next few years if not also a top professional golfer in the years to come after that.
Kai played with Rory McIlroy
On a rainy Wednesday, Kai Trump joined pro golf star McIlroy for a practice round at Torrey Pines near La Jolla, California, one day prior to the start of the Tiger Woods-hosted Genesis Invitational Tournament, which is usually played at the Riviera course in Los Angeles but was moved this year because of wildfire damage.
The pair chatted amicably as they played the front nine at Torrey Pines, with the experienced champion golfer undoubtedly providing insight and wisdom to the young rising star with a famous grandfather and family name.
After their practice round ended, the duo shared a friendly hug on the ninth green before going their separate ways.
Trump recently played with Tiger Woods
Interestingly enough, it was just a few days earlier that President Trump had been spotted playing a friendly round of golf with another legendary champion professional golfer, Tiger Woods, on Sunday at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to Golf Digest.
The president and the legend, joined by Woods' son Charlie, were spotted chatting together at the practice range while Charlie worked on his drive and a group of other golfers looked on before the round started.
Shortly after that round concluded, Trump got on Air Force One for a flight to New Orleans, Lousiana, to attend the NFL's Super Bowl championship game later that evening.
Their friendly round of golf came just days after Woods had announced the death of his beloved mother, Kultida Woods. At that time, Woods was slated to play in his Genesis Invitational Tournament, but he ultimately withdrew himself from contention a few days later as he said he was still "processing" the grievous loss, though he was still expected to be in attendance as the event's host, per the Daily Mail.
Future star Kai already a valuable commodity
As for Kai Trump, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., despite still being a high school senior at a private academy in Palm Beach, Florida, she has already emerged as a top women's golf star and is committed to playing for the University of Miami's top golf program next year.
According to sports media outlet On3, Kai's name and image licensing stock, or NIL, is already valued at around $1.2 million, which is based on a high school or college athlete's performance, influence, and exposure. She has already shown that she is a top performer, she has millions of followers on social media, and there are few things more that could increase her public exposure in addition her famous last name and family connection.
Kai's NIL valuation ranks her as No. 1 among female high school golfers, places her in the top 10 of the Women's Top 100 athletes, and slots her in at No. 81 among the overall Top 100 of all male and female high school and college athletes.
"I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami," she said last August of the school where she is destined to be a top star. "I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey."
