Former President Donald Trump continues to fight multiple legal battles, and his multiple legal defense teams are earning their pay.

According to Fox News, after an attempt to silence Trump from talking about certain people and witnesses regarding the 2020 election interference case, his lawyers are fighting back. Hard.

The judge in the case, in October, ordered a partial gag order in an effort to prevent Trump from talking about certain case-related things.

The gag order was paused not long after it was put into effect, but later reinstated by Judge Tanya Chutkan.

Lawyers respond

Trump's lawyers argued that a gag order such as the one imposed on Trump was a clear violation of his First Amendment rights, let alone the fact that he's the Republican Party's frontrunner for the 2024 election.

"No court in American history has imposed a gag order on a criminal defendant who is actively campaigning for public office — let alone the leading candidate for President of the United States," his lawyers wrote in a filing.

They added, "The Gag Order violates the First Amendment rights of President Trump and over 100 million Americans who listen to him."

Trump and his supporters railed against the gag order, which they claim was nothing more than another dirty trick to silence President Joe Biden's competition next year.

Luckily for the former president, his lawyers scored a massive victory over the weekend.

Victory

On Friday, it was revealed that a three-judge panel on the DC federal appellate court placed a temporary pause on the gag order.

"2 Obama judges and a Biden judge on the DC federal appellate court just put a temporary pause on Biden special counsel Jack Smith and DC Obama Judge Tanya Chutkan's blatantly unconstitutional gag order on Trump," Mike Davis wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Trump and his lawyers have threatened to take the issue to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, if need be.
