Trump lashes out at Vladimir Putin for derailing peace negociations with Ukraine
President Donald Trump famously took Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to task for being insufficiently grateful at a White House meeting earlier this year.
However, Sunday saw Trump lash out at Zelensky's Russian counterpart, allegedly that President Vladimir Putin for scuttling a peace deal.
President says he is "very angry" with Putin
According to the Daily Mail, Trump aired his grievances during an interview with NBC News' "Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker.
"If we're in the midst of a negotiation, you could say that I was very angry, pissed off, when Putin said yesterday that – you know, when Putin started getting into Zelenskyy's credibility, because that's not going in the right location, you understand?" Trump declared
"What he wanted – and I mean, he thought, you know, started talking about new leadership. But new leadership means you're not gonna have a deal for a long time, right?" he continued.
"PISSED OFF" AT PUTIN: President Trump, in a phone call to @NBCNews' @MeetThePress anchor, Kristin Welker, said he was "pissed off" at Russian President Putin over talks to end the war between Russia and Ukraine adding, “If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the… pic.twitter.com/RzKoFeFqUX

Trump next went on to threaten retaliatory actions aimed at Russia's energy sector should a peace agreement fail to materialize.
Trump raises prospects of tariffs on Russian oil
"If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia," he asserted.
The president subsequently clarified that such levies would include "a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil."
What's more, Trump warned other countries of potential consequences as well, stating that "if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States."
Fox News reported that there has been a recent upswing in bloodshed in the east of Ukraine as Russia has launched multiple attacks.
Russian attacks leave multiple people dead
In one incident, four people were killed and another 24 left injured after Russian drones unleashed an attack on the city of Dnipro.
What's more, an additional eight people were injured when a Russian ballistic missile struck close to Zelensky's hometown of Kryvyi Rih.
Those developments came just one day after Putin publicly praised Russian troops for "moving forward and liberating one territory after another, one settlement after another, every day."
