Trump offers condolences to Kid Rock upon passing of his father

Famous rocker Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert "Bob" James Ritchie, recently announced sad news regarding the death of a family member.

According to The Hill, the musician revealed this week that his father, Bill Ritchie Sr., had passed away.

Former President Donald Trump, a friend of Rock's, shared his condolences and opened up about getting to know his father, praising him for his success and love of family.

Kid Rock has been a long-time supporter of Trump's, and vice-versa.

Trump praises Ritchie Sr.

The former president issued a statement on his Truth Social platform upon learning of Bill Ritchie's death.

"Bill Ritchie, Sr., the wonderful father of Bob, sometimes referred to as Kid Rock, recently passed away after a long and brave fight with a nasty competitor, cancer. I got to know Bill very well over the last three years, and he was something special, a very successful guy, but family was far more important than that success," Trump wrote.

The former president praise him for how he treated his family and his overall talent and success.

"He was a fabulous father, grandfather, and great grandfather, but also, a man with tremendous vision, talent, and style, and a real character! My condolences to the whole family. Bill will be greatly missed," Trump continued.

The Detroit News reported that Kid Rock’s father, William Ritchie Sr., lived in Royal Oak and Romeo in Michigan with his wife, Susan Ritchie.

The award-winning rocker announced the death of his father on social media in an X post.

"My Dad, Bill Ritchie Sr, moved on to be with Jesus yesterday. He was an incredible father, grandfather, great grandfather, and so much more, none shy of being quite the character! Thank you for your condolences in advance. God Bless you and I love you Pop! -Bob Ritchie," he wrote.

In other social media posts, Trump's supporters offered their condolences to Kid Rock and paid tribute to his father.
