Trump order declassification of documents relating to the assassination of RFK
It has been just over a month since President Donald Trump opted to declassify materials related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
What's more, this past week saw Trump order that files on the killing of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy be released as well.
Tulsi Gabbard calls declassification "a long-overdue light on the truth"
According to Newsweek, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced the move in a statement put out on Thursday.
She explained that "American people will, for the first time, have the opportunity to review the federal government's investigation thanks to the leadership of President Trump."

"My team is honored that the President entrusted us to lead the declassification efforts and to shine a long-overdue light on the truth. I extend my deepest thanks for Bobby Kennedy and his families' support," she continued.
RFK Jr. praises "the leadership of President Trump"
Gabbard's statement explained that those wishing to review the documents can do so on the National Archives webpage at archives.gov/research/rfk.
The director of national intelligence added that they have received "minimal redactions" so as to conceal Social Security numbers.
While a total of 10,000 pages of documents have been uploaded, another 50,000 pages have been discovered and will be made available in the future.
Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Robert F. Kennedy is Sen. Kennedy's son, and he hailed the files' release as "a necessary step toward restoring trust in American government."
"American people will, for the first time, have the opportunity to review the federal government's investigation thanks to the leadership of President Trump," Secretary Kennedy was quoted as saying.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna: "This is a massive win for the American people"
Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna heads a congressional task force on the declassification of federal secrets, and she spoke up as well.
Luna praised the president in a social media post for "fulfilling his promise," adding, "I applaud President Trump and his administration for their continued commitment to total transparency. Thank you to everyone at ODNI and NARA as well! This is a massive win for the American people."
Newsweek noted that Sen. Kennedy was fatally shot in Los Angeles on June 5, 1968 by a 24-year-old assassin named Sirhan Sirhan.
