According to the National Parks Service's website, the White House Rose Garden features a "large central grass pane" which was created in 1962.

However, President Donald Trump is apparently planning to remove the grass pane, a change which is likely to thrill First Lady Melania Trump.

Trump: "Every event you have, it’s soaking wet"

That proposal came up earlier this week as the president took Fox News host Laura Ingraham on a tour of the White House grounds.

Mediaite noted how when Ingraham asked Trump if he will be "paving over the grass here," the president responded by highlighting challenges that the current landscape creates.

"What was happening is, you’re supposed to have events," he began. "Every event you have, it’s soaking wet. It’s soaking wet. And people can’t– and the women with the high heels, it’s just too much."

Grass to be replaced with "gorgeous stone"

"The grass just, it doesn’t work," the president complained before adding, "And we have a gorgeous stone and everything else."

"But you know, we use it for press conferences and it doesn’t work because the people fall into the, you know, into the wet, the soaking wet [inaudible]," he continued.

When Ingraham asked whether or not the flowers are to remain, Trump was unequivocal in his answer, asserting, "The roses stay."

"No, it’s a rose garden," the president pointed out. "All of this stays. Just the center section. I think it’s gonna be beautiful. I think it’s gonna be more beautiful."

Trump's reference to "women with the high heels" has caused speculation that the first lady may favor removing the grass, with the Irish Star noting how Mrs. Trump "is known for wearing very high stiletto heels to formal events."

Trump touts copy of the Declaration of Independence

In addition to showing Ingraham the Rose Garden, The Irish Star also reported that Trump brought the television host into the Oval Office.

There he drew attention to a centuries-old copy of the Declaration of Independence which has recently been hung up on the wall.

Trump explained that the document is normally covered with a curtain in order to protect it from sunlight before remarking, "Do you think Joe Biden would do this? I don't think so."
