Vice President Kamala Harris has already been criticized for claiming that she worked at McDonald's when it appears that she never did. 

Now, former President Donald Trump is attempting to capitalize on the situation by flipping burgers at the restaurant.

Fox News reports:

Former President Trump is making an unusual campaign stop this weekend in battleground Pennsylvania. The Republican presidential nominee will be behind the counter working the fry cooker at a McDonald's restaurant in the Philadelphia area.

"A friend of mine owns a McDonald's someplace," Trump said, adding, "Oh, I'm going. I'm going to do everything."

Background

Harris, as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, has been attempting to find ways to connect to voters. Suffice it to say that the effort has been anything but successful.

One of the claims that Harris has made is that she, at some point in her life, worked at a McDonalds. In April 2024, during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Harris said:

I did. Yes, I did work at McDonald’s. When I was at school … I did fries. And then I did the cashier.

This, however, does not appear to be true. The Washington Free Beacon did an extensive investigation on the matter and failed to find any evidence of Harris ever working at McDonalds.

Harris’s work at McDonald’s, which allegedly took place at a franchise in the California Bay Area the summer after her freshman year in college, is a recent addition to her carefully curated life story. For decades, Harris never mentioned it, not on the campaign trail nor in two books. It’s absent from a job application and résumé she submitted a year after she graduated from college. Third-party biographers did not write about it. Not until Harris ran for president in 2019 and spoke to a labor rally in Las Vegas did she mention the job, telling the crowd that she "was a student when I was working in a McDonald’s."

Since the release of this report, Harris's campaign has stopped claiming that she used to work at McDonalds. But, Harris, herself, continues to try to claim that she has.

Caught Red Handed

Trump has demonstrated that he does not intend to let Harris get away with this.

After the release of the Beacon's report, Trump said, "Did anyone see that? After an exhaustive study that took about 20 minutes, they found out she never worked there."

Now, Trump is going to rub it in even more by actually going and doing some work at McDonalds himself.

"I'm going because she lied," Trump said.

Either way, it should be interesting to see Trump working at McDonalds.
