Trump promises to invest 'billions' into Greenland and keep the country 'safe' if it joins the USA
Though he has been mocked relentlessly by his critics on the left for entertaining the idea, President Donald Trump is deadly serious about Greenland joining the United States.
According to Breitbart, the president doubled down on his offer for Greenlanders to join the United States, promising that if they did so, he would ensure that "billions" would be invested in the country, creating loads of new jobs and wealth opportunities.
Trump made the pitch in a Truth Social post, vowing to keep the nation safe, just as we have "since WWII."
The Trump administration and many global security experts insist that United States control of Greenland would be crucial for national security and would serve as an important strategic asset to the United States on the world stage.
What did he say?
To silence the false information from the liberal media that Trump wants to launch a takeover of the country, the president reiterated that it would ultimately be up to the residents of Greenland to decide if they want to be a part of the USA.
"As I made clear during my Joint Address to Congress, the United States strongly supports the people of Greenland’s right to determine their own future," Trump's post read.
“We will continue to KEEP YOU SAFE, as we have since World War II. We are ready to INVEST BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to create new jobs and MAKE YOU RICH — And, if you so choose, we welcome you to be part of the Greatest Nation anywhere in the World, the United States of America!"

Breitbart noted:
As Breitbart News’s Joel Pollak reported, during Trump’s address before a joint session of Congress, Trump expressed that the U.S. respects Greenlanders’ “right to determine” their future, while adding that Greenlanders would be welcomed if they join the U.S. Then he added, in an ad-libbed aside: “One way or the other, we’re going to get it.”
Greenland's leaders don't appear to be too keen on the idea of the country joining the United States.
They said no deal
Greenland’s Prime Minister Múte Egede was relatively quick to respond to Trump's offer, and shot it down in a statement.
"Greenland is ours," the prime minister said. "We are not for sale and will never be for sale. We must not lose our long struggle for freedom."
Many of Trump's supporters across social media championed the idea and believe it will ultimately happen.
Only time will tell if Greenland becomes a U.S. territory or even our 51st state.
