President Donald Trump has drawn both praise and condemnation for his decision to replace the White House's East Wing with a privately funded ballroom.

However, recently leaked photos show that isn't the only change which Trump has made to the Executive Mansion.

Lincoln Bathroom redone in black and white polished Statuary marble

As ABC News reported, the president revealed in a Truth Social post late last week that the Lincoln Bathroom has been remodeled.

"I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House," Trump explained while providing pictures of bathroom's old look alongside its new appearance.

"It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era," the president complained.

"I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!" he went on to assert.

Fox News noted how the bathroom is attached to the Lincoln Bedroom, which was first refurbished by President Harry S. Truman in 1945.

Eric Swalwell calls for new White House ballroom to be demolished

Trump's changes to the Lincoln Bathroom have thus far attracted far less attention than his ball room plans, which recently brought a bizarre ultimatum from California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell.

"Don’t even think of seeking the Democratic nomination for president unless you pledge to take a wrecking ball to the Trump Ballroom on DAY ONE," the congressman declared.

"Or, as [Arizona Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego] proposes, rename it the Barack Obama Ballroom. But a Trump monument to corruption will not stand," he added in a subsequent post.

Republicans mock Swalwell's demand for being "deranged"

Fox News observed how Swalwell's comments brought derision from Republicans, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who suggested that Swalwell and other Democrats "are deranged."

Utah Sen. Mike Lee spoke up in a social media post of his own, stating, "I thought you guys were against demolishing anything at the White House."

Meanwhile, conservative commentator AG Hamilton wrote, "Promising to spend taxpayer time and money to destroy a privately-funded event space that everyone agreed is needed in some capacity is certainly one way to signal priorities for Democrats..."
