Trump says he's 'in trouble' with the First Lady after doing this

President Donald Trump says that he is "in trouble" with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, after something that he did at his University of Alabama commencement speech.

What he did, according to the New York Post, was create an impression of a transgender athlete.

You may have seen the impression before, as it is not the first time that Trump has done it.

Trump, in fact, did it numerous times on the 2024 campaign trail, as he spoke out against those who advocate for biological males to compete in women's sports as transgender athletes. Trump's administration has already taken action, at the federal level, on the topic.

"Have you ever seen..."

A video of Trump's impression can be found a few paragraphs down. It took place on Thursday night, when the president delivered a commencement speech at the University of Alabama.

The Post reports:

“The greatest is like weightlifting, you ever see the weightlifting? Where they have a record that wasn’t broken in 18 years,” he said before asking if he should break out his impersonation of the athletes despite his wife’s warning. “Should I imitate him? My wife gets very upset when I do this. She says, ‘Darling, it’s not presidential,’ I say, ‘Yeah, but people like it,'” Trump added

Trump again asked the crowd whether he should do it, and when he got a positive response, he added, "All right, I’m in trouble when I get home, but that’s OK, what the hell. I’ve been in lots of trouble before."

Trump then did this:

Background

One of Trump's first moves after entering the White House was to place a ban on transgender athletes participating in women's sports.

The executive order, signed on Feb. 5, 2025, is titled, "Keeping Men Out Of Women's Sports."

It, in part, reads:

Therefore, it is the policy of the United States to rescind all funds from educational programs that deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities, which results in the endangerment, humiliation, and silencing of women and girls and deprives them of privacy.  It shall also be the policy of the United States to oppose male competitive participation in women’s sports more broadly, as a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth.

Trump has received widespread support for this measure, yet there are still some - such as the state of Maine - that are trying to oppose the president on this issue.

It is hard to imagine that support of men in women's sports is a winning political issue for the Democrats, but don't tell them that.
