This week saw independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reveal that attorney and philanthropist Nicole Shanahan will be his running mate.

The move was seized upon by former President Donald Trump, who pointed to it as evidence that Kennedy will draw votes from President Joe Biden rather than himself. 

Shanahan says the Democratic Party "has lost its way"

According to The Hill, Kennedy announced his selection of Shanahan at an event in Oakland, California this past Tuesday, calling her a "fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce warrior-mom."

Kennedy praised Shanahan as "someone with a deep inside knowledge of how Big Tech uses [artificial intelligence] to manipulate the public."

For her part, Shanahan stated that she previously "gravitated toward the Democratic Party" but complained that it has since "lost its way."

"There is only one anti-war candidate today, one peace candidate, and you won’t find him in the Democratic Party or the Republican Party. He is an independent. He is Robert F. Kennedy Jr," she asserted.

Trump predicts that Kennedy will "be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden"

The Hill noted that Trump responded to Kennedy's decision to pick Shanahan with a post on Truth Social in which he portrayed the candidate as a hardline leftist.

"RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters," Trump wrote.

"I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America," the former president argued.

"His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is even more 'Liberal' than him, if that’s possible. Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, and always will be!!!" Trump insisted.

Trump calls Shanahan's selection "great for MAGA," suggests she may be indicted

"It's great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot," the former president went on to assert.

"Expect him, and her, to be indicted any day now, probably for Environmental Fraud!" Trump predicted as he drew to a close.

The former president concluded by declaring that Kennedy "is Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!"
