Trump says 'the government knows' where mysterious drones are coming from
A bizarre phenomenon has played in New Jersey and other northeastern states over the past month as residents have seen swarms of unexplained drones.
However, President-elect Donald Trump recently insisted that the federal government know far more about the mystery than it is letting on.
Trump "Our military knows where they took off from"
According to the New York Post, Trump made that assertion when speaking to reporters at a press conference in Palm Beach, Florida on Monday.
"The government knows what is happening," he declared. "Look, our military knows where they took off from — if it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage.
"They know where it came from and where it went, and for some reason they don’t want to comment. And I think they’d be better off saying what it is," Trump continued.
"Our military knows and our president knows. And for some reason, they want to keep people in suspense," the president-elect went on to state.
Trump also joked that the drones were closing in on his golf in Bedminster, New Jersey, saying, "I think maybe I won’t spend the weekend in Bedminster. I’ve decided to cancel my trip."
Democratic senator says lawmakers need to be briefed
Trump isn't alone in criticizing how the Biden administration has handled the drone issue, as even some Democrats are expressing discomfort.
They include Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who addressed the topic during a Sunday interview with CBS's "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan.

Klobuchar recalled how "the administration has repeatedly assured people that they are safe" but added that "we need a briefing for the members of the Senate to figure out what’s going on here."
Chris Christie takes Homeland Security secretary to task
Another figure to speak up is former New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie, who recently took issue with claims from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that the drone sightings are not unusual.
"To say this is not unusual activity, it’s just wrong. I’ve lived in New Jersey my whole life. This is the first time that I’ve noticed drones over my house," Fox News quoted Christie as telling ABC News host George Stephanopoulos this past weekend.
"And I was in a restaurant in Monmouth County on Friday night, had people at the bar coming up to me and saying, 'Gov. Murphy won’t tell me anything. The president won’t tell me anything,'" Christie complained.
