Trump says traitors "stole the presidency" from a "cognitively impaired" Biden
Fox News cited a recent study that found that the total number of illegal migrants in the United States grew to more than 18 million under former President Joe Biden.
However, President Donald Trump recently suggested that the real blame for that situation lies not with Biden but with those who were manipulating him.
Trump: Figures controlled "cognitively impaired" Biden
According to Breitbart, Trump leveled that allegation in a lengthy social media post that the president put up on Tuesday afternoon.
"Joe Biden was not for Open Borders, he never talked about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will," Trump wrote.
"It wasn’t his idea to Open the Border, and almost destroy our Country, and cost us Hundreds of Billions of Dollars to get criminals out of our Country, and go through the process we are going through now," the president asserted.
"It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the Autopen. They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger," Trump continued.
J.D. Vance says Biden administration "was driven much more by staff"
"This is TREASON at the Highest Level! They did it to destroy our Country. The Joe Biden that everybody knew would never allow drug dealers, gang members, and the mentally insane to come into our Country totally unchecked and unvetted," Trump declared.
Trump went on to insist that "[a]ll anyone has to do is look up his record" before adding, "Something very severe should happen to these Treasonous Thugs that wanted to destroy our Country, but couldn’t, because I came along. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Breitbart noted that the president was not alone in raising suspicions about Biden's culpability, as Vice President J.D. Vance has done so as well.
"Far be it from me to defend Joe Biden," Vance was quoted as telling The New York Times' podcast "Interesting Times" earlier this week.
"But I really think the more that we learn, the more that we see the policy of the Biden administration was driven much more by staff than it was by the elected president," he remarked.
Recording raises new questions about Biden's mental state
New questions about the former president's mental competency arose after an audio recording of his 2023 interview with Special Counsel Robert Hurg was released.
Exclusive: Axios obtained the audio of Robert Hur's 2023 interviews of Biden which show repeated mental lapses as he struggles to remember words & dates amid long, uncomfortable pauses.

In addition to forgetting the year that his son passed away, Biden also showed confusion over the year that he left the Senate as well as when his vice presidency ended.
