Trump shooter had explosives in car: report
Investigators looking into the failed assassination of President Trump found bombs in the vehicle of the 20-year-old man who pulled the trigger.
Thomas Matthew Crooks killed a 50-year-old rallygoer, nearly killed Trump and injured two other people Saturday night in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump shooter had bombs
After securing the scene, police performed a search of Crooks' family home, where they found bomb-making materials, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Crooks' vehicle was found near the rally after police received reports of suspicious packages. Police dispatched bomb technicians and found explosive devices in the car, sources said.
The shooter killed a 50-year-old Trump supporter, Corey Comperatore. The fire chief has been praised as a hero for shielding his family.
A bullet grazed Trump's right ear, leaving him bloodied. Two other men were left in critical condition. A Secret Service counter-sniper shot Crooks dead.
How did the shooter get so close?
The FBI is investigating the shooting, which has left many wondering how security failed so badly that a U.S. president was almost killed from 130 yards away.
Secret Service has faced criticism for failing to secure the rooftop that the sniper shot from. Stunning video footage shows alarmed rallygoers pointing out the shooter to cops.

Local police also noticed a suspicious person half an hour before the shooting. Crooks also attracted notice after he was seen by rallygoers pacing near magnetometers.
An officer confronted Crooks moments before the shooting. The cop fell back when Crooks aimed his rifle at him.
"All I know is the officer had both hands up on the roof to get up onto the roof," Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe said. "Never made it because the shooter had turned towards the officer, and rightfully and smartly, the officer let go."
Trump speaks on near-death experience
Trump, who was shot in his right ear, has said he is only alive because he happened to turn his head to look at a chart.
“The doctor at the hospital said he never saw anything like this, he called it a miracle,” Trump told the New York Post in an exclusive interview.
“I’m not supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be dead,” Trump said. “I’m supposed to be dead.”
The Biden administration has pledged to get to the bottom of everything.
