Trump shuts down talk of another debate against Harris

This week saw former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris square off in a televised debate hosted by ABC.

While Harris's campaign was quick to demand a rematch, the former president appears to have ended that idea.

Trump: "I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris"

According to the Washington Examiner, Trump rejected the prospect of another debate via a statement he posted to Truth Social on Thursday.

"When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, 'I WANT A REMATCH,'" the Republican Party's nominee declared.

"Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate," he went on to insist.

"She was a no-show at the Fox debate, and refused to do NBC and CBS," Trump continued before adding, "KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!"

Moderators fact-checked Trump five times while failing to fact-check Harris

Although Trump's announcement took on a definitive tone, the Washington Examiner pointed out how he had previously floated the idea of a debate moderated by Fox News opinion anchors Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, or Laura Ingraham

That suggestion was likely motivated by a perception that ABC News debate hosts David Muir and Linsey Davis were overtly biased against the former president.

An analysis carried out by Fox News found that Muir and David fact-checked Trump a total of five times during the course of his debate with Harris while simultaneously failing to fact-check his opponent at all.

This was despite the fact that Harris at one point claimed that Trump referred to neo-Nazis as "very fine people" in 2017, an allegation which even the left-leaning website Snopes has debunked.

Harris said no Americans are in combat despite soldiers being wounded last month

Further, the vice president also accused Trump of having threatened to unleash "a bloodbath" in the event that he loses this year's election.

In fact, Trump's prediction of "a bloodbath" was made at a Michigan campaign rally and related to how the automotive industry would fare under Democratic policies.

At another point, Harris claimed that there are currently no American troops in combat zones even though eight soldiers were wounded in an attack on a military base in Syria just last month.
