Trump slams Pelosi for J6 security failures, says she's been 'exposed'

Former President Donald Trump and many others argued that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had the power to call in National Guard troops and take other extreme measures to control the chaos during the Jan. 6 protests.

Though Pelosi has denied that and has her own version of the events that took place that day, Trump slammed her in a recent Truth Social post, accusing her of being "exposed" for what she said that day.

According to reports, the post came as a result of Pelosi's daughter's documentary in which Pelosi can be heard saying she's "responsible" for the events of Jan. 6.

The documentary was filmed by an HBO documentary team led by Pelosi's daughter, Alexandra Pelosi.

What did Trump say?

In his usual fashion, Trump held nothing back as he excoriated Pelosi for what he believes to be massive, critical security failures that led to unnecessary violence on Jan. 6.

"BIG NEWS: Nancy Pelosi has been EXPOSED on tape, during her daughter’s documentary, saying she, and she alone, is “responsible” for the events of January 6th, 2021. Can you imagine how that poor and loving daughter has suffered for allowing the TRUTH to get released?" Trump wrote.

There's also controversy regarding HBO's exclusion of the clip of the former speaker taking responsibility from the J6 documentary.

The outlet noted:

In addition to his statement on Truth Social, the former president shared an article by Just the News, which explains that despite two video clips provided to House Republicans showing Pelosi taking “responsibility” for not having enough security to protect the Capitol Building on January 6, HBO has remained silent regarding why the video clips were not included in the television network’s final documentary film.

“You’re gonna ask me in the middle of the thing, when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff, ‘Should we call the Capitol Police?’ I mean the National Guard. Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?” Nancy Pelosi can be heard telling her chief of staff, Terri McCullough.

The outlet added:

After McCullough tried to explain that the security officials initially “thought that they had sufficient resources,” Pelosi said, “They don’t know. They clearly didn’t know. And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.”

The footage

The footage of the former speaker taking responsibility is damning, to say the least.

Not surprisingly, social media users, depending on their political leanings, defended or criticized Pelosi for what she said.

Only time will tell if America ever learns the truth about what really happened behind the scenes, under Pelosi's watch, on that fateful day.
