Former President Donald Trump, on Saturday, slammed the judge who is forcing his daughter, Ivanka Trump, to take the witness stand.  

Trump did so via social media, particularly his Truth Social account.

The former president went so far as to call the judge - Judge Arthur Engoron - "unhinged," "crazy," and a "nut job."

Before we get to Trump's post, though, let's take a look at what Trump is so upset about.

Background

This is all taking place in the civil fraud trial that New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) has brought against Trump. James accuses Trump of having illegally overvalued his assets on financial documents. Engoron has found Trump guilty, and a juryless trial is currently taking place to determine the punishment that will be imposed on Trump.

Trump has railed against Engoron, James, and the case that James has brought against him, arguing that he did no wrong and that all of these individuals are politically motivated Democrats. As Trump has repeatedly pointed out, James, for example, ran her campaign on a platform that included "getting Trump."

As part of this trial, James has decided to call not only Trump but three of his children: Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are executives of the Trump Organization, which is at the center of this case, while Ivanka Trump is a former executive.

All four Trumps are expected to be called by James as witnesses this week.

Kevin Wallace of Attorney General Letitia James’ office told Judge Arthur Engoron and Trump's lawyers they plan on calling Donald Trump Jr. to the stand on Wednesday, Eric Trump on Thursday, and Ivanka Trump on Friday. Her testimony will be followed by the former president, who Wallace said is expected to be their final witness.

Trump comes to Ivanka's defense

The former president, on Saturday, particularly took exception to the fact that his daughter Ivanka Trump is being forced to testify.

In a Truth Social post, the former president wrote:

My daughter, Ivanka, was released from this Fake Letitia James case by the Court of Appeals, but this Trump Hating, Unhinged Judge, who ruled me guilty before this Witch Hunt Trial even started, couldn’t care less about the fact that he was overturned. I also won on Appeal on Statute of Limitations, but he refuses to accept their decision. I truly believe he is CRAZY, but certainly, at a minimum, CRAZED in his hatred of me.

Trump, here, is referring to the fact that the appellate court, in June, dismissed Ivanka Trump as a co-defendant in the case. Accordingly, Trump recently tried to stop Ivanka Trump from having to testify, but Engoron is forcing her to.

Trump, in the remainder of his social media post, described why the case "should never have started," while taking further shots at Engoron. The former president wrote:

This case should have never started, but now must be dismissed. Financial Statements were LOW, NOT HIGH, had a 100% Disclaimer Clause, Banks were fully paid, “on time, on schedule,” with never even a minor default, there was NO VICTIM, EXCEPT ME. Any other Judge in the Country would have thrown this case out on day one. He’s an out of control “Nut Job,” who fined me $10,000 over a ridiculous Gag Order so that the publicity for the day would take over from the fact that Racist James and the Judge’s Star Witness admitted LYING TO CONGRESS on the stand - CASE OVER!

Trump likely has many fair points here. But, for now, he is stuck in Engoron's court.
