Former President Donald Trump is taking full advantage of the New York Court of Appeal's decision to halt the gag order that had been imposed on him in his civil fraud trial. 

According to NBC News, Trump did so, on Thanksgiving, by taking to social media and blasting the judge overseeing the case - Judge Arthur Engoron.

The former president also blasted Engoron's clerk, Alison Greenfield.

Greenfield has found herself at the center of a lot of the controversy surrounding this case.

Background

This is all taking place in the civil fraud trial that New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) has brought against Trump. James accuses Trump of having improperly overvalued his assets on financial documents.

Engoron imposed a gag order on Trump after Trump targeted Greenfield on social media with this post:

While in court, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social attacking Judge Engoron’s clerk, calling her “Shumer’s girlfriend” and linking to her Instagram account.

The gag order prevented Trump from making public comments about Greenfield and other members of Engoron's staff. Over the past six weeks, Engoron claimed that Trump violated the gag order twice, and the judge, accordingly, fined Trump $15,000.

Trump and his legal team responded by appealing the gag order. The appeal is ongoing. But, in the meantime, the appellate court has decided to temporarily lift the gag order. Now, Trump is taking advantage of this pause.

Trump's Thanksgiving Day message

In a Thanksgiving Day message, Trump slammed Engoron, Greenfield, James, and - for good measure - President Joe Biden.

"Happy Thanksgiving to ALL, including the Racist & Incompetent Attorney General of New York State, Letitia “Peekaboo” James, who has let Murder & Violent Crime FLOURISH, & Businesses FLEE," the former president wrote.

He continued by thanking, "the Radical Left Trump-Hating Judge, a “Psycho,” Arthur Engoron, who Criminally Defrauded the State of New York, & ME, by purposely Valuing my Assets at a “tiny” Fraction of what they are really worth in order to convict me of Fraud before even a Trial, or seeing any PROOF, & used his Politically Biased & Corrupt Campaign Finance Violator, Chief Clerk Alison Greenfield, to sit by his side on the “Bench” & tell him what to do . . ."

Finally, Trump thanked "Crooked Joe Biden, who has WEAPONIZED his Department of Injustice against his Political Opponent, & allowed our Country to go to HELL; & all of the other Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, Fascists, Marxists, Democrats, & RINOS, who are seriously looking to DESTROY OUR COUNTRY. Have no fear, however, we will WIN the Presidential Election of 2024, & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
