Trump tells Zelensky and Putin 'it is time to stop'
President Donald Trump just told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin that "it is time to stop the killing."
The statement, according to the Washington Examiner, seems to have caught Zelensky somewhat off guard.
It came just after Trump had spoken to Zelensky at the White House.

"It is time to stop..."
Trump released the statement via his social media account.
The president, in part, wrote:
The meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine was very interesting, and cordial, but I told him, as I likewise strongly suggested to President Putin, that it is time to stop the killing, and make a DEAL!
Trump went on to write, "Enough blood has been shed, with property lines being defined by War and Guts. They should stop where they are."
He added:
Let both claim Victory, let History decide! No more shooting, no more Death, no more vast and unsustainable sums of money spent. This is a War that would have never started if I were President. Thousands of people being slaughtered each and every week — NO MORE, GO HOME TO YOUR FAMILIES IN PEACE!
There is no sign, at the moment, that either side is going to listen to Trump. Zelensky, however, did agree with what Trump had to say.
"The president's right..."
Zelensky was asked about Trump's message during the press conference that he participated in after his meeting with Trump.
There, Zelensky said, "The president’s right, we have to stop where we are. This is important and then to speak."
According to the Examiner, though, "Zelensky . . . underscored this is more about Russian President Vladimir Putin 'because [Ukraine] did not begin this war."
Trump, according to Breitbart News, is expecting to meet with Putin next week.
The outlet reports Trump as saying:
We carry a lot of momentum, a lot of credibility. Getting the Middle East done was very important . . . This [Russia and Ukraine] should be one that we get done. And I think the table is set properly here now, and it’ll be a great honor to get it done, and the Ukrainian people are great, and the Russian people are great. And obviously, they have much in common. As we understand, they have a lot in common. So it’ll be a great honor to get it done.
