Shortly after hosting a special screening of Sound of Freedom, former President Donald Trump made a bombshell announcement regarding human traffickers.

According to Breitbart, Trump declared this week that should he become president, he will push for the death penalty for those convicted of child trafficking.

He also proclaimed that he would reinstate Title 42, a Trump-era policy that helped mitigate the immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border, adding that all victims of child trafficking who are rescued will be returned to their families.

The president's vows received widespread praise, as the child trafficking issue hit the mainstream with the release of the powerful movie.

"I will urge Congress"

Trump held nothing back as he promised to take swift action against child traffickers.

"I will urge Congress to ensure that anyone caught trafficking children across our border receives the death penalty — immediately. And that includes, also, for women, because women as you know are No. 1 in trafficking. Children are actually No. 2," he said.

Trump added, "Together we will end the scourge of human trafficking and we will defend the dignity of human life."

The former president heaped praise on the film, which gave the nation a terrifying glimpse into how widespread and serious the child trafficking issue has become, especially under President Joe Biden's lax border policies.

"Everyone should see it," Trump said. "This is a very important film, a very important movie, and a very important documentary wrapped into one."

Social media reacts

Many agreed with Trump's idea to unleash the harshest possible penalties against the scumbags who take part in such horrific child trafficking operations.

"Only 2 Presidents have done anything about human trafficking: 1) Abraham Lincoln 2) Donald J. Trump," one Twitter user wrote.

Another Twitter user added, "A nation that does not protect its children will cease to exist."
