Former President Donald Trump is planning to return to Butler, Pennsylvania, CNN reports

Butler is where the assassination attempt was carried out on Trump by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Many questions about how this happened remain.

Trump announced that he "will be going back to Butler" in a message that he posted on his Truth Social account.

"Fight, Fight, Fight"

On Friday, July 26, 2024, Trump wrote:

I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO. WHAT A DAY IT WILL BE — FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS.

"Corey" is Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter who lost his life while shielding his family from the bullets shot by Crooks. Trump also already honored Comperatore in many ways, including at the Republican National Convention (RNC).

But, now, Trump is planning to hold a rally for Comperatore in Butler. At the time of this writing, Trump has yet to provide further details about the rally. It appears that it may take place on Wednesday.

Reports have already indicated that the Secret Service will increase security at the event.

Fox News reports:

Former President  Donald Trump is slated to speak in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, about 200 miles from the venue where an attempt was made on his life earlier this month. Experts tell Fox News Digital that security measures will be "amped up" in light of scrutiny facing the U.S. Secret Service and the potential for a "copycat" killer.

Trump vs. Secret Service

Following the assassination attempt on Trump, reports indicated that the Secret Service was trying to get Trump to stop doing outdoor rallies. Trump, however, is refusing to comply.

He wrote:

I WILL CONTINUE TO DO OUTDOOR RALLIES, AND SECRET SERVICE HAS AGREED TO SUBSTANTIALLY STEP UP THEIR OPERATION. THEY ARE VERY CAPABLE OF DOING SO. NO ONE CAN EVER BE ALLOWED TO STOP OR IMPEDE FREE SPEECH OR GATHERING!!!

The Secret Service has yet to respond to this statement.

Trump, to the surprise of many, has also come to the defense of one of the female Secret Service agents who "shielded" him during the assassination attempt. The Secret Service has faced criticism for this decision given the height different between the woman and Trump, which meant that the woman could not really shield Trump.

Trump said:

A woman who was on my right, she was shielding me. Beautiful person – she was shielding me, everything she could. And she got crushed. And she got criticized by the fake news because she wasn’t tall enough . . . she was so brave, she was shielding me with everything, she wanted to take a bullet, because the bullets were flying. Incredible.
