Former President Donald Trump's legendary, customized luxury Boeing airliner rarely makes the news.

But that changed this week, as the insanely expensive 757 jet was in a minor accident after landing Sunday morning at a Florida airport and "clipping" another plane while it was being taxied.

Yahoo News reported that the incident took place after the jet landed at West Palm Beach International Airport in the early morning hours.

The return trip was from New Jersey, where the former president held a record-breaking MAGA rally that attracted upwards of 100,000 supporters.

What happened?

According to authorities, the winglet of the massive 757 airliner struck the wing of a parked VistaJet at the West Palm Beach-based airport.

It was noted that it wasn't clear if Trump was on the plane at the time it struck the other aircraft. It was also noted that there were no injuries as a result of the accident.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a statement on the incident.

"A privately owned Boeing 757 landed safely at West Palm Beach International Airport around 1:20 a.m. local time on Sunday, May 12," the FAA's statement said.

It added, "While taxiing, its winglet contacted a parked and unoccupied corporate jet,” the FAA said. “The incident occurred in an area of the airport where the FAA does not direct aircraft. The FAA is investigating."

Social media reacts

Some of Trump's critics used the incident to take jabs at the former president, while others were simply thankful that nobody was hurt and that it wasn't worse.

"They are investigating there is no doubt about that. Of course they would, but Trump’s plane is so big those wings could’ve clipped anything if you’re not careful," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "You know Trump wasn’t on board. If so, they would’ve claimed he took control of the plane and ran it into the other one."

As of this writing, Trump has not commented on the minor incident.
