Trumps says 'cognitively impaired' Biden was manipulated by those who "stole the presidency"
Many conservatives have blamed former President Joe Biden for presiding over a years-long crisis along America's southern border.
However, President Donald Trump recently tried to reverse this narrative by suggesting that Biden wasn't the one running his administration.
Trump says "cognitively impaired" Biden was manipulated
According to the Daily Caller, Trump made the argument in a Truth Social post on Tuesday, pointing to figures who "stole the presidency."
"Joe Biden was not for Open Borders, he never talked about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will," Trump wrote.
"It wasn’t his idea to Open the Border, and almost destroy our Country, and cost us Hundreds of Billions of Dollars to get criminals out of our Country, and go through the process we are going through now," the president insisted.
"It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the Autopen. They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger," Trump continued.
New questions arise over Biden's mental competence
"This is TREASON at the Highest Level! They did it to destroy our Country. The Joe Biden that everybody knew would never allow drug dealers, gang members, and the mentally insane to come into our Country totally unchecked and unvetted," Trump insisted.
Trump went on to declare that "[a]ll anyone has to do is look up his record" before adding, "Something very severe should happen to these Treasonous Thugs that wanted to destroy our Country, but couldn’t, because I came along. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Trump's remarks came just days after it was revealed that his predecessor is suffering from an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
What's more, an audio recording of Biden being interviewed by Special Counsel Robert Hur has raised new questions about his mental competency.
Biden was confused about when his son died, time spent in the Senate
When Hur asked the then president about his handling of classified documents in 2017 and 2018, Biden responded with an incoherent stream of comments.
Exclusive: Axios obtained the audio of Robert Hur's 2023 interviews of Biden which show repeated mental lapses as he struggles to remember words & dates amid long, uncomfortable pauses.

"Remember, in this time frame, my son is either been deployed or is dying," he said of Beau Biden, who passed away in 2015.
The then president was also confused about the year that he left the Senate as well as when his time as vice president came to an end.
