U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has found herself at the center of multiple scandals.

This, according to Just the News, includes one scandal in which it has been alleged that she asked an ex-advisor to blackmail her fiancé.

The former political strategist, Wesley Donehue, made this claim in a sworn deposition before attorneys who are representing Mace's ex-fiance, Patrick Bryant.

This is the same individual who Mace claims physically abused her and recorded Mace and others nude without their consent.

Here's what's going on:

Just the News explains the background of the situation.

The outlet reports:

Mace accused her ex-fiancé and three other men in February of physical abuse and recording sex acts with her and others without their consent in a House floor speech, alleging that she found a trove of 10,000 videos and other photographic evidence.

All have denied the accusations, including Bryant, who has referred to them as "false and outrageous."

Just the News goes on to report:

Donehue noted that Mace never shared any of her findings with law enforcement before coming forward publicly with the accusations. Instead, he told the lawyers, after Mace became suspicious of Bryant for cheating, she aimed to use the photographs she had discovered on his phone to blackmail the ex-fiancé to surrender two houses jointly owned by the couple.

Just the News has a copy of the deposition transcript if you want to read it. Mace has yet to respond to this allegation.

There's more

A separate report, from Fox News, indicates that Mace is facing more criticism for allegedly having staffers create "burner" accounts to "boost her image online."

The claim came from an article posted by Wired.

It, in part, stated:

A principal—and unusual—use to which Mace put her skills, according to former staffers, was setting up burner accounts on a variety of social media platforms to monitor what people were saying about her and bolster her image. They also claim she requested that staffers make their own burner accounts to defend her online.

The congresswoman is attempting to push back against this report, claiming that the sources were merely "bitter exes." She said, "When a story relies on ‘anonymous former staffers,’ it’s journalist-speak for ‘We didn’t have anything real, so we called the bitter exes."

She added:

Unlike some folks, I don’t need a burner phone to tell the truth. I say what I mean, I mean what I say, and I post it from my real account, with my name on it. Accountability starts there.
